Chicago opened, which is weird in retrospect - their first album hadn’t come out yet, and -- also weird -- they performed a Sgt. Pepper's medley. Hendrix was dressed all in white and played a white guitar. I had a head full of acid and one of the best evenings of my life. Hendrix was a master - he would look at his guitar while he wasn’t singing, shaking his head as though, like me, he could hardly believe what amazing music was coming out of that guitar. PBUH.
