On September 22, 1975, members of Austrian jazz-funk / prog-rock group Acid entered the Sound-Mill Studio Vienna and began recording their second LP, More Acid.
Recording sessions took place until September 16, and the album was mixed on October 1 and 10, 1975. It was produced by Peter Polansky. The LP was full of funky sounds, like its superb instrumental jam “Funky Jack Nova.” The track was written and arranged by Acid’s bassist and primary songwriter Herbert Novacek,
Another of the standout cuts on More Acid was the mellow, funky love anthem “Lovin’ You.” It was written by Novacek, who also played synthesizer on the track and was featured on lead vocals, and co-arranged by Novacek and guitarist Peter Koller.
Novacek also wrote and arranged the album’s eerie, funky closing cut, “Moonshine Girl,” which again featured him on vocals.
The group’s other members at the time they recorded More Acid were keyboardist Robert Zidek and Rudi Staeger on percussion and drums.
